About this Walk

Public art at the University of Calgary makes the campus a truly unique place to explore. It extends the intellectual life of the university beyond classrooms, labs and libraries. The unexpected and impressive sculptures, paintings and other visual arts create moments for spontaneous experiences and conversations. As you walk across campus, you will move through decades of art and University history, sharing in each pieces’ rich past by continuously rediscovering their stunning details and visual impact.

Marina Fischer is a Curator at Nickle Galleries, Libraries and Cultural Resources at the University of Calgary. She holds an M.A. in Ancient History with specialization in Art History from the University of Calgary. She is a recipient of a University of Calgary Teaching Award, and lectures frequently in various departments across campus.
