About this Walk
The West Nose Creek valley has been an occupied landscape for thousands of years. Join representatives from the Government of Alberta’s Historic Resources Management Branch as we visit the archaeological and Indigenous cultural heritage sites that contribute to our sense of place and understanding of this area of Moh’kinsstis (Calgary).
Along the way, we’ll share Blackfoot perspectives of protocol, place, and the seasonal round, as well as discuss how the Historic Resources Management Branch works directly with Indigenous communities to assist in the identification, protection, and preservation of these significant sites and landscapes.
This walk begins on the pathway at the northeast corner of the Country Hills Golf Club (1334 Country Hills Blvd NW) and involves moderate elevation gain and time spent off paved pathways. Parking is limited in this area; please be respectful to those who live in this neighbourhood.
