About this Walk
Booming after 1950s, this community was full of hope, with residences, schools and lovely parks. The association hall is build on an old lake bed: Glendale Lake, most likely a slough, seasonal, but was deep enough to be drained and filled. The hall is built on this land and beautifully landscaped. Lots of trees surround our park and some are getting older. Join us for a walk and chat about this not quite really old Calgary subdivision that is now inner City. Chat with us about where we’re going, what we need to think about to keep our leafy green community vibrant.

Monika has lived in Glendale since the 1980s and has watched Calgary grow. She’s the membership coordinator for the Glendale/Glendale Meadows Community Association, an artist, and currently completing a Master Gardener certification. She’s started Naturally, Glendale to enhance, beautify and improve the grounds through development of pollinator gardens, adding native plants and developing alternative solutions for grass and supporting biodiversity and a healthier ecology. She’s loved living in a leafy green community and working with the board to improve, support and create community activities.
