About this Walk
This walk is a conversation about local history. Pow Wows, Sandstone Quarries, Architectural History and the creation of Calgary’s first community associations will all be part of this walk. We will travel down old roads and forgotten pathways in three of Calgary’s older neighbourhoods. Historic residences, we’ll see a few. Houses where local celebrities grew up, yup. The oldest house in Sunalta, yes. (Unless it gets torn down first.)
Note: We will descend a number of staircases. Not suitable for wheels.

Walk Leader(s): Matt Masters
Local musician Matt Masters grew up in this area. The back alleys of Scarboro and Sunalta were his bicycle hangouts in the early 80s. Since then Matt has built a national reputation as a singer and songwriter of classic country and western music, with 6 albums and thousands of live shows behind him. Matt and his wife Amanda are the founders of Curbside Concerts, a live music booking agency that operates across Canada.
